By worldwide, I really do mean that it spans the globe. My website alone receives hit from just about every country in the world. As such, it only makes good sense to install a website translator on your pages as I have done.

Multi-lingual websites provide an important advantage when conducting business on the site. Generally it is believed that to create a multi-language site costs a considerable sum of money but that is not always the case. There are many different types of website translators that can be found with many of them being freely distributed and they merely require a couple of lines of code to be functional.

Traditionally, to convert a total website into a different language was not only very time-consuming, but expensive as well. It usually entailed duplicating the English pages to the desired language which resulted in two separate web pages. It was in fact similar to having two parallel websites operating side by side. This system often required considerable amounts of programmer time and vast sums of money. Since websites are continuously changing, the two sites created twice the amount of update work that normally would be required. This amounted to one huge headache.

All of this has rapidly changed with increased technology, which makes the translations a simple and easy task. To accomplish these modern feats, the software should have very precise human translations. This would enable the complete site to be translated, and not merely a few words. As an example it should include various site text pages, graphics, as well as any embedded files. As I previously said, it only takes a few lines of code to translate an existing website. You place this code in your home page and when a user clicks that link and selects an alternate language, the entire web page is instantly converted to the chosen language.

by David Tiefenthaler

“Work smarter, not harder,” is a line I have heard often. I like this philosophy part because it’s true, and part because I’m lazy. So many small business out there are working hard everyday to make some money, but they aren’t doing smart work. In my small town, five businesses on Main Street have shut their doors in the last year. It’s sad driving through because I bet every one of them could have survived if people knew that they were out there.

More and more, customers use the internet to find what they are looking for. I look online at what I want to buy before I even go to the store. I still am reluctant to buy products online, but I sure like finding out about them on a website before I make my purchase. Now if your small business isn’t on the web, you are losing customers like me everyday. To someone like me, a store that doesn’t have a website doesn’t exist.

Make yourself visible and viable again in the new information age. Make a website that can not only help you survive, but thrive! Here are seven stellar tips to make your small business website a success.

1. Use a web provider that will provide you with everything! That sounds confusing, but it is not. To make a website, you need a domain name, a web host, and a computer program to create your website. Their are companies out there that can provide you with all of these needs. I jumped headfirst into building my site with absolutely no website building skills. I found a great company that gives me all the tools to make my site without having to know any technical information.

2. Stick to your area of expertise. If your site is on cooking recipes, don’t sell earrings on it. Laugh if you want, but there are sites out there that do things like this. When you create a website, make sure you target a specific group of people. This will help you get found by the big search engines like Google and Yahoo.

3. Don’t pay very much if any for advertising on the web. If you make a great content rich site, you will show up on the search engines without paying for advertising. Besides, I hardly ever click on the advertised links when I just want information on the products I am interested in. I have a site on running, and the only thing I pay for is the site itself. Traffic comes to me through a free search from the search engines.

4. Provide great information. That is what most internet users are looking for anyway. Create numerous pages on your site about the products and services that you know so well about. Your internet customers will love your free information which builds some trust. Now when it is time to buy, they will go right to your website or store.

5. Make sure you know what your customers want. I originally planned on creating a website with information on running shoes and clothes. I didn’t know that runners were so interested in beginner running tips. When I made my site, I did a brainstorming search that helped me find out what keywords people are searching for on the internet. I now use those keywords to develop the specific pages on my website. This boosts my website’s traffic because I have information that customers are looking for.

6. Create your own opportunities to get customers. I write for ezinearticles.com because this website rules! Out of the millions and millions of sites, this one is ranked in the top 250 in the world. Write an article for a site like this on your area of expertise. The people who read it will then go to your site. More visitors means more chances to earn money.

7. Finally, be patient. Success doesn’t happen overnight. The web is a competitive place, but if your website has great information, people will find you. It might take some time. The search engines are getting smarter by the minute. Big companies like Google and Yahoo want to direct their visitors to great sites. If your site is useful, they will put you high on their lists. This makes for happy searchers who will like what you are selling.

It seems like a lot to do, but it really isn’t. When I wrote this, my site was only two months old. All I had was motivation and determination. I draw more and more visitors daily through free searches on Google and Yahoo. You can use the same company as I do to build your site and be successful even in this rough economy.

by David Chan

There are many variables when it comes to dominating a niche, whatever the market may be.

However, one thing about people on the internet is fundamental. Often times, people are looking information on the internet, and help on certain areas. They may be looking for things they are interested in, or they need some help or guidance for a big decision. What you can do is to brand yourself as a valuable asset to these people. Make them recognize you as an authority and make them want to come back to you for further information.

So the missing link to getting the most out of dominating your niche is by branding not only your business but yourself. This is why the gurus have gotten as far and as well known as they are. The absolute best method to go about dominating and make you look like an expert opposed to a newbie is by giving your target audience what they want. Not only that, but for free. That means without pocketing one single penny, and making everybody recognize you as not just another salesman. Make yourself into a genuine person that wants to help and provide these people what they want. People don’t go to a doctor because they are a salesman. They are looking for a fix or solution and only a doctor can do it.

However, will they go to a doctor just because they offer the best service? Maybe. The chances are they have a primary care physician that they are established with and trusts. This is a very important aspect of dominating your niche, and is one of the most effective ways to brand yourself. It’s the issue with trust that many people overlook or just ignore.

If you’re just starting out and wish to become an instant guru, there are many fast track methods for doing this. Yet the best way to do it without any prior knowledge or any prior reputation is by building up your own name. Don’t look at yourself as a nobody or else you’ll stay one. Establish the mindset that you’re here to help people on whatever the market you are targeting. Many people get confused and start off just selling to people. Of course this may work and will continue to work to some extent.

Yet mindset is very important and by doing so, you’ll have a very powerful weapon that others may not have or pay very close attention to. By now you may be asking some questions.

How do I start branding myself?

There are many ways to get a head start on this. One such method is to participate in popular forums and get your use your full name or a recognized one. Don’t use “Superman1337″ but instead “Bob Jones” or something similar to it. Then establish your credibility by being there and actually provide yourself as a resource to these people. Other ways to do this include making an active decision to write an informative blog and even a Squido page. You want people to listen to what you have to say and regularly tune in to what you have. Podcasts are another option, but that’s only if you have the tech experience to work with those.

On the front-end you should be giving quality and informative ideas to people. Make sure they aren’t complete junk and people can actually put them to good use.

The mindset is simple, and it’s really mostly about branding. The more times your name or company pops up, the more times people are going to think of you as the solution to their problem. So don’t procrastinate and start getting to work. Things will pay off when you are established in your niche.

by Sam Miller

Just what do you first notice about any website you visit on the Internet? Surely your answer would range amongst the many facets of web design and development that the website would hold. Perhaps it is its layout that catches your eyes? The fancy graphic images and videos or audio files you can access? Or perhaps it is the simplicity of a website that grabs your attention? All these aspects and more are part of what is known as the GUI or graphic user interface. For webmasters and web designers to ensure the success of this GUI, a web test scorecard should then be primarily used.

GUI is primarily used and developed so as to give due control to users. In the case of web design and development, control would be in the form of the ease and convenience the users would have when the GUI responds to whatever commands they give. Thus, the first goal of any web testing scorecard would be in establishing premium quality of the website’s GUI. Moreover, the scorecard should be used to determine whether or not the GUI provided by a website is indeed what its users and visitors would like to get their hands on themselves, and this is done with the use of the relevant web technology we have streaming all over the arena right now.

The homepage is the primary landing page of any visitor and should then be given due attention. The main things to remember here are accessibility and navigability. Your homepage should give easy access to all of the web pages hidden in your website, no matter how far they are burrowed within, as well as make it easy for your users and visitors to navigate their way through all your links so that they can find the information they are looking for. A number of questions should then be asked when developing your scorecard for this. You need to ask yourself, just how do your visitors get to your homepage? Are your menus outlined in such a way that they provide easy navigation? How about the overall construction of your homepage? Does it encourage the dropping by of more visitors? Technically, if you are the web designer, you would certainly have biased answers to these questions because this is your work, after all. Having a scorecard answer those questions is the wise thing to do because through this, you are sure to have unbiased answers to begin with.

Make sure to have direct links to all of the pages embedded inside your website when you are still in the process of constructing it. The ideal GUI will have present all the links that enable searchers to go back to the homepage. Without these links, the visitors would be left stagnant on whatever page they find themselves in, and this is something no web designer would want for a website. Moreover, make sure to incorporate direct links to all of the other pages and sections found in your website.

Your web test scorecard can also be used in determining interface speed. Studies show that most visitors give about 10 seconds leeway time for all graphics and such to show up on the website. If your website is overly laden with graphics and they take more than 10 seconds to show up, you just might lose your visitors. Keeping all these and more in mind, you should realize by now the important role this scorecard plays in the success of your website.

by Nikki Blassingame

Research shows that once a visitor clicks onto your website, they decide in approximately three seconds on whether they will stay put or go somewhere else. Your potential customers are “scanning” your site quickly for information they need and want, and if it is not there then, neither are they. In the offline world location, location, location is the ticket, whereas the online world, people are in search for information, information, information (also known as Content Creation).

The information that you provide on your website must aim to meet your potential customers needs/and wants. Fresh, new content is crucial to search engine rankings. There are numerous other factors that involve the search engines algorithms, but content remains a very important factor in the equation. Most importantly, your content should she be unique and well-written. This is one of the most vital aspects of one’s website, and warrant’s the time it will take you to create it.

So you are probably wondering what kinds of questions you should ask yourself, about what you should take into consideration when thinking about the content for you site…… Ask yourself…..

1. What does your potential customer want to find? Are you providing what they are looking for?

Simply put, they are looking for a solution to their problem. You must provide them with the answers to their questions. Step outside the box, and provide them with sample emails of questions you have received along with your reply’s versus, a FAQ page. Your goal is to keep them on your site as long as you can, and you must have good content in order for them to stick around.

2. Will you have to do research or will your content come easily to you?

You may be very knowledgeable about your product, and the content creation flows easily for you, or you may be delving into a field you don’t know much about, and it will require some research on your part. You will want to find as much information as possible to include on your site. The more fresh, new web content you have on your site, the more the search engines spiders will pick up on it, and visit you more often.

3. Will you need someone to write for you (ghost writer)? If so, do you know how to go about finding one, and are you financially prepared to handle the costs associated with finding a Good one?

Your online perception can make-or-break all of your online marketing efforts. If you are an expert in your field, but don’t know how to write, then guess what…….You need to hire someone to write your content. Several places that you can look are Scriptlance, eLance, and Rentacoder, just to name a few. Be sure that you get a good writer because you want unique, quality content, created just for your site.

If you feel that you are able to write your own content (that is great) be sure to have it proofread so that the errors that you accidentally over looked are caught. Find someone that can go through your content, and give you constructive criticism. Try not to take it personally ( I know it’s easier said than done), and look at it as money saved (those little changes may retain more visitors).

The bottom line is, if you have good content creation on your site, your site will gain in popularity, you have an increased chance of receiving inbound links to your site, which will help your sites rankings. The name of the game is exposure and credibility. Now go create fresh, new content, and get tons of inbound links for your website.

CSS refers to presentation instructions for a document written in a markup language such as HTML or XHTML. A well defined CSS driven structure adds a level of efficiency and greater ease in modifying the appearance of a website.

What if one could maintain his lawn in a CSS sense? Using a hand held device he enters height and color values, and instantly every blade of grass on the lawn is exactly the same height and color (wouldn’t that be nice). A scenario such as this might apply to the copy on a website. Changing the font size, color, name, etc. for every page in a site would undoubtedly be cumbersome. Defining a single CSS object from which all copy elements reference would allow for dramatic modifications to the appearance of all copy on all pages in a snap.

Consider maintaining landscape elements in a predictable cascading effect. One may want all bushes to be of equal width and height. However, they may want to define the color and petal size of the flowers produced based on the species of plant. In this scenario we would reference two CSS objects for each bush. The first is the same for each bush, doing all the trimming so that each plant is of equal width and height. The second is specific to each species, defining what the flowers will look like. This scenario might represent the layout of a web page. A general layout such as equal columns with equidistant spacing. However, the similarities may end there as we may want to implement some type of distinction between each column. Whether the distinction is a background graphic, borders, or some other attribute, those instructions may be provided by means of a subsequent reference that adds more specific detail to the individual columns.

The analogies mentioned should provide general understanding about CSS. One could certainly go into great depth regarding specific implementations and practices.

Not only can these experts save you time and money, they can also provide you with tips and strategies to make your website more effective.

Webmasters who have created dozens or even hundreds of websites know that a website must have some basic design features for it to be effective. Unfortunately, a novice developer trying to “build my first website” may find that they are lacking in this essential knowledge.

Websites who enjoy high traffic volumes have some common characteristics and it is essential to include components in the website development process to capitalize on these components. For example, a basic website design should include, among other critical elements:

Powerful design
Creative layout
Dynamic interactive content
Relevant content
Dynamic links to and from relevant websites
These key elements of website design are integral to a highly reputable and highly qualified website building tutorial. These tutorials are also extremely effective for people seeking to build long-term relationships with their customers by offering an opt-in tutorial and squeeze page tutorial.

Website design and development have come a long way in the past decade and even further in the past several years. It is much easier and more economical to develop a website today than ever before - but only if you know the basic tips and elements of the development process. Utilizing a website building tutorial can make a huge difference in the time it takes to create your website and the effectiveness of your site.

A website meant for business must satisfy dual qualities viz.successful marketing of the products and services and securing useful leads & queries to sustain the business. The website, at the same time, must be informative and promote good quality of products and services. It should be kept in mind that for doing business, potential customers have to be drawn and not those visitors who will give the site a pass at the very first visit.

The basic thing to learn regarding web-based business is that there are already people out there who use the internet extensively to search for the products and services being offered. Therefore it is useful to think from their perspective and to understand whether the correct words and features are being used to frame the website. The need for keyword researchers and well equipped designers becomes important for this matter.

The success of a website also depends on the position of useful links guiding visitors to similar websites. Various Coding standards can be used to for this purpose and there is a need to make the whole presentation compatible with various search engines. Pay-per-click campaign is also a useful tool for any business website. Generally this includes a bidding process and a lot depends on the market of the products or services the site deals with. However pay per click is the most useful option for short term and not so useful for the long run.

Finally there is urgent need to turn the traffic into successful conversions for generating considerable amount of revenue. For this matter the website should be presented in a manner that speaks for itself as far as credibility is concerned. The product details, Reviews, testimony etc. should all be placed in properly. The ‘Home Page’ and the ‘Contact Us’ page need special care as these are the useful sections for the customers. The information essential for conversion should be specially highlighted and so as to direct attraction straight to those sections.

Throughout the website the company’s position, credibility, product efficiency etc. should be presented in a concise manner. Above all web -based business is as much about the marketing strategy as the actual quality of the products and serviced. Without the fulfillment of the standard the success of the business is sure to be narrow. There has to be parity between the marketing standard and the quality and usability of the product.

by Ken Liang

E-commerce is continuously growing with more and more people bringing in their normal transactions from the table to the dashboard of their websites. Since the discovery of the World Wide Web, people from all over the world have found it easier to transact with other people from other countries through the internet. All they need to do is buy a domain name, build a website, buy online marketing tools such as shopping carts and merchant accounts, and of course design the entire online shop.

Web design works both ways: it basically guides the customers around the website and advertises the quality of service as well. People go for websites that look decent, are well updated, and that actually work. A lot of online businesses that are badly done with crummy lay-outs, use of colors, and even an inactive site navigation age usually don’t end up as money-making machines. Therefore if you are planning on becoming one of the many online businessmen and women, web design and lay-out should be one of your major priorities and investments. Having an expensive website and all the merchandise to be sold won’t do you good if you do not have the interesting, welcoming, and (in simple terms) cool storefront to display to the online public.

Many people don’t understand the important of having a good website for their business. Getting this part right will help to get your visitors to stay on the website longer and do business with you. You need to know that they don’t know or care about you and your website, they just want to get what they want and leave. If your website cannot provide the information or products they looking for, they will simply go elsewhere. You must you are NOT the only one that providing your services or products.

If you want a good website, first you would need to know what to look for. There’s a simple way to find this out - visit your competitors’ website. Make a list of all the common things they all have, for example - logo on the top left, font size is 14 pixel, white background…etc. So you start with the layout and then the copy, images, colors and so on. Having these information will be help you or your web designer or design company in making a better website for your business.

If you are planning to outsource the website work to a freelancer or company you should first check to see if they are familiar with your industry, and if not, ask them if they will research your industry and how much time they will spend on that. The better the freelancer/company understands your industry and customers, the better your website will be. If you want to be sure that they fully understands your industry, you can always provide them with the information upfront. This could actually cut down the overall cost of your website.

Now there are a lot of good web design companies you find on Google. Some of these can be good and cheap but majority of the time, you will get what you pay for. So talk to them on the phone, look at their portfolio, maybe call a few of their clients up to get some feedbacks from them. You can also do a search for their company name in Google or Yahoo and see if there’s any blog and forum comments about their service.
